Gov’t Mulls Panel for Amarnath Row

NEW DELHI – Searching for ways to defuse the Amarnath issue, the center government is thinking of forming a group comprised of eminent persons to act as the intermediaries between both sides. Former Chief Justice A S Anand is a name being mentioned by various sources.

Congress led coalition is not happy with the way BJP is attempting to cause more problems in the Amarnath issue. “We are not blaming them, but neither are we giving them a clean chit,” said an anonymous source close to the situation.

Another concern has been the attempts made by other organizations to escalate the problem into a bigger issue to fulfill there own hidden agendas.

“Such a move like setting up a panel cannot be ruled out,” the sources said but did not reveal any names.
The center government has all along said that they favor a dialogue as it feels that any attempts to inflame passions both in the valley as also in Jammu world have a negative impact on the country with Pakistan and other outsiders seeking to take undue advantage.
